Apples For August

In an apple orchard at the edge of summer, a guarded young woman and a gentle artist fall into a fragile intimacy, but the resurfacing of their pasts, and the realities of an interracial relationship, threaten to end what they’ve just begun.

About the Show

Set in a late-summer apple orchard, Apples for August follows August, a teenager new to upstate New York, and Jude, a budding artist. Their chance encounter blossoms into a gentle, transformative friendship — a story for anyone who has ever felt lost or overflowing with feeling.

what they’re saying

“APPLES FOR AUGUST is the story of two young adults who unexpectedly meet on a seemingly uneventful summer day… Their story is a loving tribute to those times when it seems like nothing is happening — yet everything is happening. The sweetness of their story is just right.” — Kristin Hardwick

“Although the pace of this production is slow, you find yourself hanging on to every word… Both characters have opposing views of the world and their role in it. Time appropriate questions for today’s current events.” — Laurie Lawson
